MARCUS AURELIUS, as Caesar, (A.D. 161-180), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 140-144, (3.35 g), obv. bare head of Marcus Aurelius to right, around AVRELIVS CAESAR AVG PII F COS, rev. around HONOS, Honos standing to left, holding branch and cornucopiae, (S.4784, RIC 422, RSC 236). Toned, extremely fine and scarce.

As a young man Marcus Aurelius shows his bias towards honour and virtue (comment by Eckhel).
