PUPIENUS, (238 A.D.), AE sestertius, Rome Mint, (18.84 g), obv. around IMP CAES M CLOD PVPIENVS AVG, laureate bust of Pupienus to right, draped and cuirased, rev. around PAX PVBLICA, Pax seated left with olive branch and sceptre, S C in exergue, (S.8533, RIC 22a, C.23, BMC 48). Attractive brown patina, surface roughness on reverse, otherwise very fine/nearly very fine and scarce.
