BILL OF EXCHANGE, £32.10.0, New Norfolk, Van Diemen's Land, April 2nd 1818, Twelve Months after Date I Promise to Pay to Mr.Dennis M'Carty , or Order, the Sum of Thirty-Two pounds Ten Shillings Sterling, for Value received. Eitnefs W.Burks Joseph Marshall/ X his mark and Robt. Chambers X his mark. A nearly completely printed form, stamp hinges on back corners, six lines of red ink wiritng to cross note (to extinguish entitlement?) otherwise good extremlely fine and unique, the only currency intrument known from this town.
