PRIVATE TRADERS NOTE, George Shenton, one pound, Perth, March 1 1866 No.966, signed by G. Shenton and entered by Geo. Shenton Jnr.(son) (cf. Nicholson lot 1634). Tear on left margin and tape marks on all four corners, otherwise fine and extremely rare.

G.Shenton Jnr. later became first mayor of Perth and a prominent politician.
