SAR (SOUTH AUSTRALIAN RAILWAYS) AMBULANCE CORPS, Morphett, prize medal in silver and enamel (33.5x37mm), no maker, ring top suspension, reverse inscribed, 'Junior Squad/Second Prize/1948/B.G.B.Morphett'. Extremely fine.

This medal was awarded for the 32nd Annual Ambulance Competitions held by the South Australian Railways on 21 October 1948 at Verdun in the Adelaide Hills. A special train took guests, officials and competitors to the competition grounds. The Junior Squad event was won by Karoonda with Islington coming second, one point behind. B.G.B.Morphett was a member of the Islington Squad.
