NETHERLANDS, Willem Barents, (issued 1944 as 350th commemorative of the Dutch navigator's first Arctic voyage), in white metal (59mm), by Mar Rhem (Hans Rhem), obverse, bearded image of Barents 3/4 right, reverse, an event from his 1594 expedition to the Far North Arctic of two expeditioners fighting off a polar bear. Very fine.
