1839 PROOF PENNY, Victoria, 1837-1901. S-3948, Peck 1479 (S) 18.86g. Obverse - young head ( bare neck) w.w. incuse on truncation. Reverse - Similar to GEORGE IV and WILLIAM IIII, penny designs with an ornamental trident. The legend reads BRITANNIAR : REG : FID : DEF: Hair stain on reverse, fully brilliant bronzed cameo proof, FDC and scarce.
