1887 PROOF HALF CROWN PATTERN, Victoria, 1837-1901. S-3924, ESC-2772, Davies 640 (R). 13.94g. Obverse - Joachim E. Boehm's Jubilee bust with small crown and veil, J.E.B. on truncation. Initial bust (very rare) with 20 pearls to broach instead of 16. A large gap on Obverse between rim and effigy and different veil design on bottom RHS. Reverse - Ornate crowned square shield of arms , over the Garter, the whole enclosed by the Collar of the Order with its gartered English roses and elaborate knots. The date is split either side of St George and the legend reads BRITANNIARUM REGINA FID : DEF : Deep blue grey toned brilliance, gem FDC and rare.
