AFGHANISTAN, Kingdom of Abdur Rahman, (AH 1297-1319) (1880-1901 AD), silver one rupees, machine made at Birmingham mint, reeded edge, (9.08, 9.60 g), obv.1304 and rev.1303 as struck (illustrated); another with support mount obv.1304, rev.1304, = 1885-6, (KM.805). Extremely fine; second coin very fine mounted, scarce. (2)

These coins were made as patterns but some circulated. An as struck example was in the Heritage Auction NYINC Sale 3063, 16 January 1918 (lot 33547) realised US$220.
