AFGHANISTAN, Commemorative pattern for medal in bronze, "The Herat Medal", AH 1309 [AD 1891-2], 35mm, (20.74 g), obv. inscribed "Emir Abdul Rahman", rev. inscribed and dated 1309AH. As struck, proof with delightful patination, FDC and very rare.

Ex Mark E. Freehill Collection, purchased from Spink & Son, London, c.1970s for £190 with tickets.
