DOMITIAN, (A.D. 81-96), silver denarius, issued as Caesar under Vespasian, Rome mint, issued A.D. 79, (3.10 g), obv. laureate head of Domitian to right, around CAESAR AVG F DOMITIANVS COS VI, rev. around PRINCEPS IVVENTVTIS, clasped hands holding legionary eagle resting on a prow, (S.2643, RIC 246, RSC 393). Nearly very fine, scarce.

Ex Duke of Northumberland Collection (Sotheby's, 4 November 1982), lot 42 (part of), with collector's ticket.
