HADRIAN, (A.D. 117-138), AE dupondius issued 136, (13.62 g), obv. laureate bust of Hadrian to right, HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, rev. CAPPADOCIA, S C across, Cappadocia standing wearing turreted head-dress left holding model of Mount Argaeus and vexillum, (S.3656, RIC 848, C.202). Rare type, nearly very fine.

A type rarely seen, a similar example described as good fine in CNG eSale 460, on 20/1/2020 (lot 642) realised $500US.
