GORDIAN III, (A.D. 238-244), AE Sestertius, issued 239, Rome mint, (19.92 g), obv. laureate bust to right of Gordian III, draped and cuirassed, around IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AVG, rev. Gordian standing to left, sacrificing over tripod altar holding short sceptre, around PM TR OP II COS PP, SC across, (S.8724, RIC 264a, C.207, Hunter p.lxxxiii). Very fine with an attractive brown patination.
