COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL, (EIIR Dei.Gratia). 423 B.A.Moylan. Impressed.; War Medal 1939-45. 501194. E.C.S.Haling. Impressed. Two single medals, the first medal without a ribbon and with heavy cuts on obverse and reverse, otherwise very fine, the second medal with toning spots, otherwise extremely fine.

MSM: CAG No.3 15/1/1970, p372 to 423 Maj. Bertie Alexander Moylan, R.Aust Infy Corps.

Bertie Alexander Moylan, asst blacksmith, age 19, born at Normanby, Vic served in WWI (No. 524) and was wounded twice; he also served in WWII (No. 423 [SX2649]) as Captian with 2/27 Infy Bn and was captured in Greece 28Apr1941 and made a POW; he discharged as a Major.

Elsie Caroline Sivyer Haling, born 26Jun1912; trained as a nurse at Prince Henry Hospital, Sydney, NSW; Enl.23Feb1942; Emb.06Oct1942 as Escort Sister on Draft travelling to USA and Canada; RTA 15Nov1942 from Canada; Disch.23Oct1945 as Nursing Sister ex 1 RAAF Hospital. Also entitled to Australia Service Medal 1939-45.
