PAIR: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899 (type 2 reverse with clear ghost dates), - four clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901; New South Wales Fire Brigade Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. 2382 Gr.C.Murray, N.S.W. Art. on first medal, C.Murray 20:3:1918 on second medal. First medal impressed, the second medal engraved. Display mounted, light scratches on first, otherwise toned very fine.
Gunner Cameron Murray, A Battery, RAust Arty; Emb.30Dec1899; RTA reaching Sydney 15Sep1901; discovered his wife had developed an alcohol problem while he was serving overseas; left the Army and joined the NSW Fire Brigade Mar1903; sued for divorce in 1911; in 1918 he was Instructor of NSW Fire Brigades.
