GROUP OF FOUR TO POW DIED IN CUSTODY: 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal 1939-45. DX612 R.C.Vingoe. Impressed. Some contact marks, otherwise extremely fine.

Roderick 'Rod' Clarence Vingoe, born 01Aug1901 at Boulder City, WA; Enl.10Jul1940 at Darwin, NT; served as Driver in 2/3 Motor Ambulance Convoy; reported as POW 15Feb1942; entrained with K Force at Changi POW Camp 25Jun1943; Died of illness 11Jul1944 in Thailand while working on Burma/Siam Railway; Buried at Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, Kanchanaburi Province, Thailand; commemorated on the board of Darwin Enlistees WWII 'They died for their country'.

With copy of Service File and other research and a coloured photo of grave, all stored in a binder.
