Together with WWII Nearest Female Relative's badge with one star, pin-back with safety chain, reverse numbered A21235; Farleigh E C (Entertainment Committee) Returned From Service badge in sterling silver and enamel, pin-back, reverse impressed, 'J Drury/AIF/War 1939-45; RSL Club badge (3 figure type) with (19)50 overlay on KC, reverse numbered Q41159; patriotic fundraising badge in bronze with stick-pin, features A in middle of a small Rising Sun badge with 'Courage Sacrifice Comradeship' in scroll below; military whistle in brass with chain attached; Army Driving Licence to Pte Albert Drury; Record of Service Book to Dvr Drury; Demobilization Procedure Book to Pte Drury; personal note book; photo in uniform.
Farleigh Entertainment Committee badges were presented to relatives of those who died and also to those returning service men and women from the Farleigh area at a special 'Grand Final Welcome Home' function held at the Farleigh School of Arts on Saturday night 19 October 1946. Relatives were invited to attend and accept badges for those who could not be present.
Albert James 'Jim' Drury, labourer, age 28, born at Mackay, Qld; Enl.31May1940 at Rockhampton, Qld; posted to 1 Aust Corps Troops Supply Column 19Jun1940; Emb.27Dec1940 to Middle East; fought at Bitters Lake and Hill 29 Palestine with 2/2 Bn and 2/9 Bn; undertook Distinguished Driving & Maintenance Course 05May-17May1941 in Middle East; RTA 17Feb1942; deployed to Wau in PNG in 1943 with 2/5 Independent Coy with raids at Salamaua and patrols around the Huon Gulf; moved to Markham Valley and also defended Wau airfield; RTA May1943 for training at Canungra, Qld; Disch.05Dec1945 at Redbank, Qld; Died 08Mar1992.
