ASSAM VALLEY LIGHT HORSE, 2nd Squadron Camp, 1916, uniface prize medal in silver (51mm), reverse inscribed, 'Proficiency/1st Prize/E.A.Andrews Tpr/"D" Troop'. In case of maker, J.Bosech & Co, Calcutta and Darjeeling, nicely toned extremely fine.

The Assam Valley Light Horse regiment was raised in India in 1891 from the European community, mostly tea planters, in Assam. It was disbanded in August 1947 when India gained independence.
