CHINA, various charms, (2) as modern, and one as late Qing Dynasty (illustrated) with circular hole, "five poisonous creatures" type, obv. 4 characters with ornamental scoll, rev. of tiger, spider, toad, snake and lizard; old man type [Liu Hai or Zhong Kui] to right (CCH 1816); modern copies with square hole with rev. cresent and sun between two stalking female lions; last type with two dragons rev., last two with 4 character obv. legends. Very fine, first rare. (3)

A similar example of the five poisonous creatures type was sold in Stephen Album Auction 40, 13 May 2021, (lot 1130) that realised $350US.
