NERO, (A.D. 54-68), AE Sestertius, issued c.64, Rome Mint, (26.54 g), obv. laureate head to left of Nero, around NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP PP, rev. Ceres on right veiled and draped seated left, holding torch, feet on stool, Annona draped standing facing, right hand on hip, left hand holds cornucopiae, modius between them on altar, ship's stern behind, around ANNONA [AVGVSTI] CERES, S C in exergue, (cf.S.1952, RIC 391, BMC 307). Weak in places, porous, otherwise very fine and a rare type.
