CARINUS AS AUGUSTUS, (A.D. 283-285), issued in 283 A.D., Lugdunum Mint, billon antoninianus, (3.17 g), obv. IMP C M AVR CARINVS AVG, radiate cuirassed bust to right, rev. around SALVS AVGG, **D* in right field, Salus standing to right feeding snake held in her arms, (S.12356, RIC 216, C.122). As struck, uncirculated, with some silvering and golden red highlights, very rare in this condition, otherwise extremely fine/nearly very fine and scarce.
