TRIO TO WIA: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 1219 Pte W.V.Capon. 13 L.H.Rgt. A.I.F. on first medal, 1219 A-Sgt. W.V.Capon. 13 L.H.R. A.I.F. on last two medals. All medals impressed. Ribbons damaged, toned very fine.

Together with a patriotic fob in gold (9ct; 8.05g; 25.5mm), with scroll top suspender, Presented by the Citizens of Oakleigh, inscribed to W. Capon.

William Valentine Capon, clerk, age 31, born at Daylesford, Vic, NOK was his father living at Oakleigh, Vic; Enl.14Jul1915 at Melbourne, Vic, in 6RFTS for 13LHR, after serving 2 1/2 years in Light Horse and still serving; Emb.27Oct1915; trf to 2DAC 11Mar1916; to A/Cpl 13Mar1916; to A/Sgt 10Dec1916; WIA 11Aug1918, GSW to chin, jaw and neck, France; invalided to England 15Aug1918; RTA 12Jan1919; Disch.21Apr1919.
