AUSTRALIA, Merchant Navy badge, in silvered bronze, by Wallace Bishop, Brisbane, with two lugs, reverse numbered 16870. Very fine.

With copy of the Port of Townsville record page showing that badge 16370 was issued on 19/5/44 to Desmond Bender, Engineer, last ship 'Margaret Thwaites, and present ship 'Duntroon', to replace previously issued badge 14029 issued at Townsville on 21/1/43 declared lost due to enemy action on 22 March 1944 on 'S.S. Lolina'.
