H.M.A.S. Sydney, a small hoard of badges in gilt and enamel, includes sweetheart badges (29x31mm), in shape of a lifebuoy with crest of HMAS Sydney in centre, pin-back (8 red, 2 blue); Good Luck souvenir badges (24x24mm), ship's crest in horseshoe, pin-back (6); lapel badges (20x23mm), ship's crest (7, six with button back and one with stick-pin); tie-bar badge (20x23mm), ship's crest on pin-back tie-bar (7); also triangular serviette holder in brass with gilt and enamel ship's crest affixed to one side, all stored in a lacquered timber hinged lid case. One of each type of badge illustrated, mostly very fine - extremely fine. (31)
