BOER WAR, Queen Victoria, South Africa 1900, gift tin (W83xL158xD25mm), with painted lid and raised gold painted bust of Queen Victoria in the centre, across the bottom of the lid is the message, 'I wish you a happy New Year'; WWI, chocolate tin (W83xL218xD38mm), by Needlers Ltd, Hull, the painted lid features allied flags and the uniformed busts of Field-Marshall Sir John French, Earl Kitchener, and Admiral Sir John Jellicoe, at the painted front side is a wreath between two Union Jack flags. The first tin with spotting on Queen's bust and around edge, both with some loss of paint, otherwise in reasonable condition for their age, good - fine. (2)
