POLICE FORCE OF VICTORIA, Plain Clothes, identification medallion in silver (36mm) 1902-1947, by Stokes & Sons Melb, obverse the Imperial Crown surrounded by a circular title band with the words 'Police Force of Victoria', reverse with laurel wreath. Holed at top, very fine and rare.

Identification medallions were issued to men serving in Plain Clothes and in the Criminal Investigation Branch (C.I.B.) 1902-1947. This type replaced the larger issue used during the reign of Queen Victoria.
