EARLY ANGLO-SAXON, Continental, (c.690-710), silver sceatta, series D, type 2C, mint in northern Frisia, struck under Radbod, King of Frisia, obv. crude bust right, chevron behind, uncertain Runic legend before, rev. cross pommee, pellets in angles, rosette below, blundered legend around, (S.792, North 168, Abramson 8-10). Toned, extremely fine and scarce.
