ITALY, Papal Coinage, Innocent XI, (1676-1689), silver scudo (32.18 g), Roma mint. Dated year 2, obv. INNOCEN XI PONT MAX A II (triskeles stops), mantled bust right, wearing zucchetto; HAMERANVS F below, rev. PORTAE INFERI N ON PRAEALEBVNT around the facade of St. Peter's Basilica, RO MA in exergue, (CNI 17; Muntoni 38 [piastra]; Berman 2089 [piastra]). Gilt, has been mounted on edge, otherwise good very fine and rare.
