THRACE, Island off Thrace, Thasos, (after 148 B.C.), silver^tetradrachm, (16.60 g), obv. large head of young Dionysos^to right, wreathed with ivy and band across forehead, rev.^Herakles naked standing to left, holding club, lion skin^over left arm, to right **[HR]AKLEOUS*, to left **SWTHROS, below **[F]ASIWN, MH monogram to left, (cf.S.1759, SNG Cop. 1040-1045). Lightly toned, very fine.
