JULIUS CAESAR, (c.46-5 B.C.), silver denarius, Spanish mint, (3.808 grams), obv. Venus diademed head to right, Cupid on shoulder, rev. Gaulish captive and Gallia captive seated beneath trophy, CAESAR in exergue, (S.1404 Cr.468/1, C. Julius Caesar 13). Banker's mark before, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare.
