GROUP OF FOUR: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; France, Combatants of the Somme Medal 1914-1918-1940 (Ceux de la Somme Association Medal). 95 Dvr. W.J.Edwards. 1 F.A.B. A.I.F. on first and third medals, 95 Dvr W.J.Edwards 1/F.A. Bde A.I.F. on second medal, last medal unnamed. All named medals impressed. The first three medals swing mounted, contact marks on second medal, otherwise very fine.

William James Edwards, soldier, age 22, born at Condoblin, NSW; Enl.29Aug1914 at Sydney, NSW, with nearly 2 years service in RAFA; to 1Bty AFA 29Aug1914; Emb.18Oct1914; to hospital with VD 17Apr1915; rejoined unit at Gallipoli 04Oct1915; to France 21Mar1916; various disciplinary actions and also admissions to hospital 11Jul1916 - 21Jul1917; to France 05Sep1917; further hospitalisations with cellulitis left knee and also VD 09Sep-12Apr1918; RTA 01Aug1919; Disch.22Dec1919 Medically Unfit.
