DOMITIAN, (A.D. 81-96), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 84, (3.428 grams), obv. laureate head of Domitian to right, with aegis, around IMP CAES DOMITIANVS AVG GERMANIC, rev. around P M TR POT III IMP V COS X P P, Minerva standing to left, holding spear, (cf.S.2742 [£55 VF], cf.RIC 46, RSC -). Full flan, nearly extremely fine, a very rare unlisted variant.

The reverse type is otherwise only known in gold.
