DOMITIAN, (A.D. 81-96), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 88-9, (10.120 grams), obv. laureate head of Domitian to right, around IMP CAES DOMIT AVG GERM COS XIIII CENS PER P P, rev. around FIDEI PVBLICAE, Fides standing to right, holding corn ears and basket of fruit, S C across field, (cf.S.2804, RIC 370, C.115). Light attractive dark brown patina, good very fine, scarce in this condition.
