AUSTRALIA, WWI, handwritten note book diaries (2) that appear to be the period of 1915 to 1916, the first contains drawings and descriptions of allied and enemy aircraft including a few on loose inserted paper, as well as daily happenings in the field and the second contains day to day activities, there is also a separate, larger loose page with drawings in ink of three different uniformed soldiers in the Middle East and other items and this is signed 'CS/15' (probably 1599 Crief Oliver Smith, 17Bn, Enl.09Apr1915 [see footnote to lot 180]). One diary with torn back cover and all items with some foxing, makes for interesting reading, fine. (3)
