ENGLISH 1842 PATTERN MUSKET FITTING, features detached lock and hammer, with various stampings including a crown over V.R over Tower 1847 on lock plate as well as a small combined crown and broadarrow. Very fine.
The Pattern 1842 percussion musket was used by the 40th Foot Regiment in the attack on the Eureka Stockade at Ballarat in 1854.
