SEVERUS ALEXANDER, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued 226, Rome mint, (2.502 grams), obv. laureate bust to right, draped, around IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, rev. PAX AVG, Pax running to left, holding olive-branch and sceptre, (S.7887, RIC 165, RSC 183); another issued 223, (3.308 grams), obv. similar, rev. PM TR P II COS P P, Jupiter standing half left, holding thunderbolt and sceptre, (cf.S.7891, RIC 19, RSC 229). Second coin with corrosion, otherwise nearly very fine. (2)
