SICILY, Syracuse, (c.475-465 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.258 grams), obv. fast walking quadriga driven to right by bearded male charioteer, Nike flying right crowning horses, dotted border, rev. **SUPAKOSION around to right, head of Artemis-Arethusa to right, hair slightly waved and turned up behind under diadem of beads, four dolphins around, (cf.S.914, Boehringer 268 same dies (obverse 121/reverse 185 dies), BMC 37 [same dies], SNG Cop. 625). Attractive dark tone, some weakness in places, otherwise, good very fine and very rare.

Boehringer notes only 9 specimens from these dies.
