INDIA, EIC, Madras Presidency, Native Style Coinage, silver rupee, open lotus, Arcot mint, year 2, (KM.384) (illustrated); Kashmir, Srinagar mint silver rupee, with letters JHS in field VS1916 (1859), (KM.Y13). Very fine, both scarce. (2)

JHS on the obverse of many of this second coin in one of several described versions of the origin, could it be for "Jesus Hominus Salvator" (Jesus Saviour of Mankind). It was placed on the coins because of British help in selling Kashmir to Dogras for 75 lakhs of rupees.
