AETHELRED II, (978-1016), silver penny, crux type, Exeter Mint, moneyer Goda, (1.29 g), obv. bare headed bust left, trefoil tipped sceptre before, large pellet behind neck, three horizontal folds to drapery, within inner circle, +AEDELRAED REX ANGLORX (ORX ligated) around, rev. short voided cross with C R V X in angles within inner circle, legend +GODA M-O EAXEC around, (S.1148, N.770, BMC iiia). Toned, nearly very fine and rare.
