EDWARD I, (1272-1307), silver penny, long cross type, blunt class IVb, Berwick Mint, issued 1300-1310, (1.38 g), obv. crowned facing bust, no sceptre, small narrow face, bifoliate crown, within pelleted inner circle, +EDWAR R ANGL DNS hYB around, rev. long cross voided dividing VILLA BEREVICI, trefoil of pellets in each angle, (S.1415, N.1079). Toned, area of flat striking, lightly clipped, nearly fine, an extremely rare obverse legend.
