EDWARD III, (1327-1377), silver groat, fourth coinage, pre-treaty series Ga, London Mint, mintmark Cross 3, (4.44 g), obv. crowned facing bust within tressure of arches, fleurs on cusps, annulet below bust, EDWARD D G REX ANGL Z FRANC D HY around, new initial cross pattee with concave ends, annulet stops, rev. long cross voided dividing POSVI DEVM ADIVTOREM MEV CIVITAS LONDON within two circles, trefoil of pellets within each angle, annulet stops, Roman Ns, annulet in one quarter, (S.1570, N.1193). Toned, clipped, good fine.
