SICILY, Syracuse, (c.425 B.C.), tetras, AE 14, (2.66 g), obv. nymph Arethusa head to left bound with ampyx and sphendone, within line border, rev. octopus or cuttle-fish, (S.1188, Calciati 14, SNG Cop. 679, SNG ANS 389, HGC 2, 1430). Pleasing dark brown-black patina, very fine, rare in this condition.
