THRACE, Maroneia, (late 2nd century B.C.), AE 27, (14.62 g), obv. head of young Dionysos to right, wreathed with ivy, rev. Dionysos naked standing left, holding grapes and two narthex wands, monograms to left and right, around **DIONUSOU SWTHROS MAPWNITW[N]*, (S.1638, BMC 75, SNG Cop. 643-4 var., HGC 3, 1557). Attractive brown patina, good very fine and scarce.
