MACEDON, Amphipolis (158-149 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.95 g), First Meris, obv. Macedonian shield, at centre of which is a bust of Artemis Tauropolos to right with bow and quiver at her shoulder, rev. **MAKEDONWN PRWTHS* in two lines, club between, rare monogram above, all within oak wreath, to left of which a thunderbolt, (S.1386, SNG Cop. 1310-5 (monogram), cf.SNG Ash. 3290-2). Full flan, bright, attractively toned, very fine and extremely rare monogram.

Only one example with this monogram in Coin Archives (892 examples noted). That example from the same dies as the Numismatik Naumann Auction 49 (January 8, 2017) lot 137.
