MACEDON, Kingdom of, Philip III, (323-316 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.13 g), Sardes mint, issued c.323-319 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, line border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **F* in left field, A under throne **FILIPPOU* to right, (cf.S.6751, Price P110, BMC P110a-b, Thompson Sardes XV, 322-7, M.P4). Good very fine and very scarce.

Ex CNG December 2, 1998, as a private purchase.
