AKARNANIA, Argos Anphilochikon, silver stater, (c.300 B.C.), (8.39 g), obv. Pegasos with pointed wing flying to left, A beneath, rev. head of Athena to left, wearing Corinthian helmet over leather cap, **DI* and shield with strap behind head, below head AP, (cf.S.2258, Calciati 19, BCD Akarnania -, cf.McClean 5304, BMC 13, HGC 4, 786). Obverse fine struck from a worn broken die, reverse good fine, very rare.
