EUBOIA, Chalkis, (c.290-273/2 B.C.), silver drachm, (possibly a contemporary forgery), (2.60 g), obv. Hera head to right, hair rolled, rev. eagle flying to right, carrying snake in talons and beak, to right **CAL*, below caduceus, (cf.S.2483, Picard p.69, Pl.XV, [This Coin] illustrated, Lanz Sale 111 [BCD] illustrated This Coin, lot 182). Good very fine, toned, and apparently unique.

Ex BCD Collectiion, from Lanz Auction of the BCD Collection, November 25, 2002 (lot 182), previously from the W.P. Wallace Collection. Lot includes BCD ticket, photos and notes on the issue.
