PELOPONNESOS, Elis, Olympia, 108th Olympiad, (352-348 B.C.), silver hemidrachm, (2.57 g), obv. Zeus Olympios bearded head crowned with olive wreath to right, rev, F A across with eagle standing right, with long legs and spread tail feathers to lower right an olive leaf capitol, (cf.S.2895, BCD [Leu 90] 143 [same dies] and McClean 6637, BMC 84 [p.67, similar dies], ACNAC Dewing 2158 [similar dies], HGC 5, 441 [S]). Lightly toned, nearly very fine/very fine and rare, with tickets.
Ex BCD Collection, from CNG Auction Sale Triton XIII, January 5, 2010 (lot 2175 part), originaly from a private purchase from BCD, previously from Bill Veres December 1979. Lot includes descriptive collector's ticket and BCD ticket.
