IONIA, Miletos, (c.352-325 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (14.98 g), Theognetos magistrate, obv. laureate head of Apollo to left, rev. lion standing left, head right, star above, MI monogram left, **QEOGNHTOS* in exergue, (cf.S.4501, cf.Deppert 68 ff). Nearly very fine and very rare.

Ex Kunker Auction Sale 270, 2 October 2015, (lot 8321, realised 1200 Euros).
Kunker notes in describing this coin that the magistrate Theognetos has so far only been documented for hemidrachms and drachms, see Deppert-Lippitz 5 and 38 ff. The present piece proves that tetradrachms were also minted in his name.
