CARIA, Carian Islands, Rhodes, (c.250-230 B.C. Ashton chronology), silver didrachm, (6.50 g), obv. radiate head of Helios three-quarter face to right with hair loose, rev. rose, with bud on right, P O below, Artemis running with torch to left, above **AGHSIDAMOS* all within dotted border, (S.5048, Ashton series 4, No.206, BMC 130-2 [p.242], SNG Cop.762-3, SNG Finland 534-5 [similar dies], SNG von Aulock 2804). Toned with dark blue and red highlights, well centred and nearly extremely fine, rare.
